Our Heritage
Lettie's Garden is dedicated to Luetta Fledderjohann Koepke, grandmother to Maribeth Baker, owner of Lettie's Garden. Lettie taught Maribeth how to garden during her childhood and passed on her love of flowers and the natural world. She was never without blooms, either as part of her attire, or in her home and extensive gardens.
The Flower Farmer
Maribeth Baker grew up wanting to be a farmer but life took her on a different path. She has a degree in Agriculture, and taught horticulture and biology before heading to medical school. Recently retired from her family medicine practice in Sauk City, WI, she now realizes her childhood dream following the seasons and working outside to create and maintain Lettie's Garden. Baker Farm has been owned and operated by Bill and Maribeth since 2012.
Farm Experience
Welcome to Lettie's Garden, a pick-your-own flower farm between Sauk City and Madison, WI.
Enjoy the experience of walking among the flowers and creating your own fresh bouquet of seasonal flowers in a beautiful valley with a restored barn and wildflower prairie.
Pumpkins and organic apples will be available in the autumn.

Shears and gathering bucket or jar are provided for use on the farm. have your blooms wrapped in paper or bring a vase.
Payment at this time is via cash or venmo.
FLOWERS IN FULL BLOOM. Many different pollinators visit the flowers so look for bees of many types and butterflies. Evening brings the moths and lightening bugs.

Bouquet Options

The Little Bud is our sweet starter size, giving you just enough stems to create a charming, compact arrangement. It typically holds about 10 to 12 hand-picked focal flowers and delicate fillers. It’s the perfect option for kids, first-time pickers, or anyone looking to catch a quick, beautiful glimpse of the fields to brighten up a small space.

The Blossom is the quintessential kitchen table bouquet. This size gives you the freedom to wander the fields and select a lush, vibrant mix of approximately 20 stems. You’ll have plenty of room to mix heavy hitters like dahlias or zinnias with airy cosmos, greenery, and whimsical texturized elements. It makes a stunning centerpiece that brings the true, abundant feeling of the farm right into your home.
The Blossom

For the ultimate flower lover, the Full Bloom is a show-stopping, statement-making arrangement. This generous option allows you to harvest an overflowing bounty of 35+ stems. It is perfect for filling a large statement vase, splitting into multiple smaller arrangements around the house, or creating a breathtaking gift for someone special. If you want the full, immersive experience of gathering every single color and variety our fields have to offer, this is the bouquet for you.
The Full Bloom

Phlox begin to bloom in early June and varieties continue blooming until frost in the fall. Colors range from pink to magenta and white.
One of the highlights of a summer garden, heliopsis is often called "early sunflower." Heliopsis is a bright addition to the garden and any bouquet.
Delphinum are spikes of flowers in purple and blue and white.
Calendula or pot marigold are a bright flower present in multiple colors of orange and yellow.
Cosmos are one of the anchors of any cutting garden. They have delicate green leaves and the flowers colors include pink, magenta, white, red.
Hydrangeas are scattered around the property and are available in multiple colors and types, either the conical panicle hydrangeas or the round globe hydrangeas. In the fall, they can be picked and dried for autumn arrangements.
Stella d'oro lilies bloom all summer, adding bright yellow to your bouquet. Each stem has 3-4 buds that will bloom in succession after picking. Stella lilies have no odor.
Statice is a filler flower. It lasts long after cutting. Statice can be dried. The variety available is pink with white center.
Double Knock-out roses have multiple roses on a stem. The begin to bloom in mid-June and will bloom for the remainder of the season. They are happy to be cut and share their blossoms because cutting generates new blooms.
European Flax
A stalwart centerpiece of Lettie's Garden, zinnias have a wide range of colors and bloom sizes. The pollinators enjoy them as much as the flower enthusiasts.
Exotic Coneflowers are a perennial that is available in double blooms, lime green, yellow, and orange. The more common purple coneflower remains in the seeding stage for this season but will be blooming in 2027.
Many ferns are available as fillers and greenery inyour bouquet.
Pansies are at their best in cool temperatures. This smiling flower comes in many colors and faces. Pansies are edible and can brighten a salad.
Snapdragons are prolific at Baker Farm. Some grow as weeds in the cracks by the barn but there are also masses of them in the rows. Snapdragons are happy flowers available in many bright colors and bloom from June to frost.
Hostas are present throughout the property in many colors, textures and sizes. The hosta leaves work well for a base of greenery for the bouquet.
Yarrow is available in pink, yellow and white, blooming from mid-June through August. Long-lasting in a bouquet.

Salvia is available in two tones of bright purple. Spikes of salvia are stunning accents in a bouquet of warmer color flowers.
One of the stunning premium flowers are asiatic lilies. They begin to bloom in mid-June. Each stem has at least 3 buds and these will bloom in succession. These lilies last long after cutting and act as a focal point of any bouquet.
Roses
Kale's ruffled leaves work as a base for a bouquet. Organically grown, a bunch can be harvested for eating.
Bee Balm, or monarda, grows in the perennial garden for the months of July, attracting many pollinators.
